We very bulging like two cymbals closed. Fine foliage and graceful. This bamboo grows in China in Sichuan at altitudes ranging between 1200 and 2200 m.
Being jealously confined in their region of origin due to the use and trade of their products, which continue to be made by local people for over 2000 years.
Was it lack of supervision or as a form of witness to be opening? Whatever the reason, Peter Addington brought from China in 1987 a plant for Chimonobambusa tumidissinoda that introduced in England, and from there distributed throughout Europe.


Partial shade.


Superb in pots or beds, however only developed completely in-ground.


Edible shoots much appreciated. For its decorative foliage and its salient us, interesting to descents viewed from the bottom up.
